In July of 2003, HCVN received a substantial grant from the Citizens Bank of Hutchinson/Irv Burich Foundation and the Burich Family Foundation.  Those dollars were used to purchase a new Leightronix playback system.  Instituted in mid-July, this new system houses 28 VCR's and supplies video feeds to both Channels 7 and 10.  This new system replaced an outdated system given to HCVN in the early 1990's.

"This new system allows HCVN to be more versatile in our programming, allowing more time for Government meetings to be re-broadcast, reaching more of the Community of Hutchinson," comments previous HCVN coordinator Carlene Taylor.  "We have needed this addition to our station, and with the help of Citizens Bank, it has become reality.  I am so thankful to have this opportunity to improve our facility for the residents of Hutchinson."  Taylor also stated that more programming is being made available and that residents in Hutchinson can enjoy more old time music made possible by Vern Knick of Hutchinson, programming that is most often requested by the public.

The new system was upgraded with two 400 disk DVD changers in 2006 to allow for more programs to run on DVD, which provides better video qualtiy for viewers.  Also the wood shelving system for the vhs players was replaced with metal racks donated by HTI.

In 2004 HCVN purchased a Macpro G5 for non-linear editing to allow for easier editing and for more people to learn on, due to the ease of non-linear over linear editing.

Hutchinson Community Video Network, Inc. is a private, non-profit Public Access Station providing local programming to the residents of Hutchinson, Minnesota.  Founded in the 1980's, HCVN is administrated by a local Board of Directors and a local Coordinator/Executive Director.  HCVN's primary programming is orchestrated through local volunteers within the community, under the direction of the new Coordinator Mark Schramm.  Programming can be seen daily on channels 7 and 10 with service through the Hutchinson Telephone Company and Mediacom.
