Hutchinson Community Video Network, Inc. is a non-profit organization which promotes and facilitates television production and programming for viewing on the specially designated cable public access Channels 7 and 10 in Hutchinson. 

A cable public access channel is available to every community where there is a cable television provider.  Hutchinson is fortunate to have two such providers, Hutchinson Telephone Company and Mediacom. The purpose of the cable public access channel is to provide a low-cost means of television production for any community members wishing to create programs for viewing on Channel 7 and 10.  Because the access channel is not intended to be a "news reporting" channel and is not "ratings driven," programs are not required to appeal to a broad audience.  Community television programming is "narrow cast" and derives its popularity with viewers from programs about local people, places, and events. There are always a variety of skill and interest levels accessing Channel 7 and 10 resulting in a variety of production quality and topics.

HCVN equipment is provided free of charge to create programs for Channel 7 and 10.  When HCVN equipment is used for any part of production, HCVN archives the master tape and reserves the right to any revenues derived from any duplication of the production.  Copying and further public exhibition of the production, is only with the joint permission of HCVN, Inc. and the program producer.

HCVN, Inc. equipment can be rented for a private, non-channel production.
